class=\"elementor-text-editor elementor-clearfix\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>AIOSAT project was present at the seminar and official opening of\u00a0 the Galileo Reference Centre, Noordwijk, The Netherlands (Wednesday, 16 May, 2018). The representative was Didier de Wulf (Hulpverleningszone Centrum &#8211; FRS).<\/p><p>The full programme of this event is here:<\/p><p><span style=\"font-size: 16.8px;\">https:\/\/www.esnc.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/Full-programme-16-May-1.0.pdf<\/span><\/p><p>Concerning the Galileo referece Center, this institution will be monitoring the quality of data generated by the European satellite navigation system Galileo. An important role, considering that services operating on the basis of this satellite data are used by virtually everyone. In addition to monitoring the quality of the Galileo services, the Reference Centre will also coordinate with the American GPS and Russian GLONASS systems.<\/p><p><span lang=\"EN-US\">The red line in the seminar was \u201dLinking space to users needs.\u00a0<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p><p><span lang=\"EN-US\">The strategic objectives for the coming years were explained by Mr. Carlo des Dorides (GSA Executive Director) and Dr. J\u00f6rg Hahn (ESA \/ ESTEC Galileo System Engineering Manager). In addition, the technical advantages of Galileo vis-\u00e0-vis the GPS system were explained.<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p><p><span lang=\"EN-US\"> <\/span><\/p><p><span lang=\"EN-US\">Peter Buist, the GSA&#8217;s Manager of the Galileo Reference Center in Noordwijk, presents the mission of the facility.<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p><p><span lang=\"EN-US\">\u00a0<\/span>Mr Pierre Delsaux Deputy Director General &#8211; DG GROW underlined the importance of Galileo both for the citizen and for the economy and that this is supported by 20 European member states.<\/p><p><span lang=\"EN-US\">Minister Van Nieuwenhuizen opens the Galileo Reference Center: \u201c&#8217;I am proud Galileo Reference Center is located in Netherlands. The Galileo data enables us to navigate with accuracy to within 20 cm. In rescue operations this is going to save lives\u201d.<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p><p><span lang=\"EN-US\">\u00a0T<\/span>he kick-off of the European Satellite Navigation Competition was then given by Mr. Rudolph Thorsten (Managing Director AZO) and Carlo des Dorides (GSA Executive Director).<\/p><p><\/p><p><span lang=\"EN-US\"><o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-a5c3dba elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"a5c3dba\" data-element_type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-row\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-eeccc4f\" data-id=\"eeccc4f\" data-element_type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-cc71748 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"cc71748\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-text-editor elementor-clearfix\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Lessons learned for AIOSAT project:<\/p><p><\/p><ul><li>A lot is coming to us about innovative applications in collaboration with satellites<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>There is no direct view of what satellites offer the emergency services, but what has been presented at this seminar is that there could be a large number of successful spin offs in this area.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>As emergency services, we are insufficiently unaware of this matter. at least from an emergency first responder point of view. A task group of emergency services with the GNSS \/ ESA would be very valuable, given that some calamities are cross-border (such as natural disasters, terror) and this approach is both very sustainable and innovative.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>And this in extension of the idea: linking space to user needs<\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>AIOSAT project was present at the seminar and official opening of\u00a0 the Galileo Reference Centre, Noordwijk, The Netherlands (Wednesday, 16 May, 2018).
