MOBNET will also help first responder services to find lost people in general. To that end, the use of EGNSS (both Galileo early services and EGNOS) and DCT (Digital Cellular Technologies) plays a key role in situations where it is difficult, dangerous or even impossible to access the affected areas. ICARUS concentrates on the development of unmanned SAR technologies for detecting, locating and rescuing humans.There is a vast literature on research efforts towards the development of unmanned Search and Rescue tools. The Smart@fire (2012-2017)\u00a0project wants to reduce the risks inherent to firefighting.To reduce these risks, innovative ICT-solutions need to be developed and integrated into smart Personal Protective Systems. The current ICT-solutions available on the market do not yet provide full satisfaction.Based on a large scale needs assessment of\u00a0<strong>961 fire brigades<\/strong>\u00a0the innovation potential from the procurer\u2019s side has been identified. To increase the safety of the firefighters they are looking for innovative technologies:<\/p><ul><li>Sensors\u00a0to measure environmental parameters and vital body functions<\/li><li>Localization systems\u00a0to determine the\u00a0 position<\/li><li>Data transfer and visualization systems\u00a0to better assess situations<\/li><\/ul><p>All those innovations will have to be integrated in the\u00a0Personal Protective Equipment of fire fighters.In the second phase, the so-called\u00a0Pre-Commercial Procurement<a href=\"http:\/\/www.smartatfire.eu\/pre-commercial-procurement.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Pre-commercial procurement\" rel=\"noopener\" style=\"background-color: #ffffff;\">\u00a0<\/a>(PCP), the goal is to develop prototypes, with\u00a0financial support\u00a0from summer of 2013.&nbsp;Read the&nbsp;<\/span><span>interim results here.&nbsp;MoSeS is a system for the fire brigade, among other things, that maximizes the safety of people (especially their own personnel) and reduces the damage caused by calamities as much as possible.&nbsp;With innovative technology you get real-time insight into the situation with MoSeS.&nbsp;It is about usable technology
